We are very pleased to announce that on Thursday 4th December the management team from Ride The Hill attended the Grand Hotel in Brighton for a special tourism awards event. This is the first time Ride The Hill have entered such an event so to get through the qualification rounds, mystery shoppers and actually into the finals was a shock to all.
The night started similarly to most of these events – a champagne reception, small talk in the lobby. A great 3 course meal later and the awards are on. Ride The Hill’s category for Best Visitor Experience was second on the schedule. Nerves were running high.
The awards were kept light hearted and informative with an interesting introduction of the chairman and managing director for the Beautiful South tourism board. The compare for the evening kept the crowd going with banter.
Our category was up. Aidan and Alison Twomey were ushered down to the stage to meet the other finalists. Finally the wait was over, Ride The Hill and Go Ape won a bronze awards, topped by Oxford Official Guided Walking Tours, and in top position was Livingstone Lodge Overnight Safari Experience. All the team were chuffed to make it to the finals.
To top the night off our General Manager won a special awards, introduced for the first time in this the 2014/2015 Beautiful South Tourism Awards, the Best Newcomer To Tourism. What a fantastic way to top off a great year in Mountainboarding for Ride The Hill. Click HERE to check out a full list of winners.
